You are greeted by your Lapland Safaris guide at the Safari Club House, where everyone is equipped with warm outfits (woollen socks, boots, overall, balaclava, helmet, scarf, mittens and finally hat for breaks during snowmobiling)

Your safari on snowmobiles begins right in the centre of Levi, with two persons sharing one snowmobile. After the guide’s instructions of how to drive a snowmobile, the safari will head to the forests and lakes to admire the wide snow covered Lappish scenery.

Upon arrival to the husky camp, the first welcome will be the barking of the friendly dogs. The hosts tell about husky dogs, the nature and training of the huskies who truly love the cold climate as well as running and pulling a sledge. Dogs are harnessed in teams and you will experience a comfortable 3 km ride in a route through the silent nature.

A delicious soup lunch with hot coffee/ tea and sweet bun will be served during the day.

After lunch you continue snowmobiling and return back to Levi.

In the evening, meet you guide in the lobby for a coach transfer to Lainio Snow Village.

Snow Village in Lainio. Every year a new design of Snow & Ice.

Lainio Snow Village is built entirely of snow and ice and covers an area of approximately 20 000 square metres. The Snow Village boasts Europe’s biggest ice dome which contains snow bedrooms, an ice restaurant with ice carved tables and bar, and amazing snow galleries full of beautifully illuminated ice art.  Approximately 1,5 million kilos of snow and 300 000 kilos of crystal clear, natural ice are used for the construction which is rebuilt with a slightly new design every year .

After taking a a look around the snow village, enjoy a welcome drink served from ice glasses at the ice bar before a delicious warming dinner served from ice tables, while sat on ice carved benches covered in warm reindeer fur.  The inside temperature remains between -2 and -5C and is a comfortable and memorable experience when dressed in thermal safari clothing.

After dinner it is possible to arrange an ice disco for the group in the ice bar, or spend an unforgettable night in a snow room.

The snow village is situated between the resorts of Levi and Ylläs, and is approximately 45mins from Levi by coach.


Breakfast buffet at hotel

Meet your guides at the hotel lobby for a short coach transfer. At the Olympic site, there are rinks and stations for each event, and campfires for enjoying a refreshing juice or a hot coffee.

Upon arrival the first ceremony is to light the Olympic fire and take the Olympic oath. The group is divided into smaller teams which rotate from station to station during the snow whirling fun of the winter games. The teams compete against each other by collecting points in various events for example:

  • Kick sleigh relay
  • Skill test on snowmobiles
  • Reindeer lassoing
  • Snowshoe relay
  • Tandem ski relay
  • Building a Kota
  • Smartness test

A tasty soup lunch will be served during the day.

During the victory ceremony the best team but will be awarded a prize according to Lappish customs.

In the afternoon freetime for optionals. Enjoy discovering Levi’s many shops, cafés and bars, relax at the new spa waterworld with its 17 pools and 9 saunas, or hit the ski slopes. Levi is the number one ski resort in Finland with 45 slopes, and the internationally recognised world cup slope where the 1st slalom world cup championships of the season are held each year. If skiing is a little too fast paced, why not join us for a peaceful walk on snowshoes in the nature or a cross country skiing trip!


In the evening, meet your guide for a short walk to STEAKHOUSE PIHVIPIRTTI, Capacity maximum 120 persons

If you like a good steak, The Steakhouse is the place to be. Dine in the glow of the fireplace and order a steak to suit your taste. The cosy, age old wooden restaurant offers good food and a laid back atmosphere. It is conveniently situated in the centre of Levi close to all the local services and evening entertainment, and only a short walk from all of the hotels. The restaurant can seat up to 110 persons at one time and is open to everyone.

Guided coach transfer to Kittilä airport, farewells to your guide!




Try a traditional Arctic form of transport! (This excursion is suitable for children of 12 or over). Join us on a snowshoe excursion in the snowy nature. After receiving thermal clothing and snowshoes we will head to the Levi nature. Along the way, your guide will tell stories of the life and people of Lapland. During the trip, enjoy a well-earned drink before returning to the Safari Club.

Sami culture in the heart of Levi!

Meet your guides at the hotel lobby for a short guided coach transfer to Samiland on the Levi fell. Samiland is an indoor and outdoor exhibition of the indigenous Sami People. The indoor exhibition holds pictures, exhibits and interesting facts about the Sami culture and the outdoor exhibition has a reindeer corral and traditional Sami buildings. Samiland has been chosen to be a part of the Unesco Observatory’s programme. Explore Samiland before returning with your guide by private coach to Levi Centre.

A taste of ice fishing in the heart of Levi!

Ice-fishing in Lapland

Meet your guides at the hotel lobby to pick up thermal clothing and fishing equipment before taking a short walk to Levi’s own local lake. At the lake you can break the ice and fish “Arctic Style” through a hole in the ice! While you fish there is time to admire the beautiful surrounding scenery and enjoy a cup of hot juice and cookies. After your fishing experience, and hopefully with a good catch it’s time to head back on foot to Levi.

All programs are weather permitting. All the items are subject to availability at the time you request the space. We reserve the right to change the rates in the event of increase of taxes, fuel costs or similar beyond our control.


All the snowmobiles, cars and forest scooters are insured as required by the Finnish Traffic Insurance Act. This insurance covers medical care for injuries to the driver and the passenger arising from accidents. Personal injuries and damages to other parties while driving a snowmobile, car or forest scooter are fully covered according to the Finnish Traffic Insurance Act. Lapland Safaris is not liable in general for personal injuries or material damage arising from accidents during other games and activities such as husky sleigh safaris, reindeer safaris or other excursions in which snowmobiles or quad bikes are not involved. Personal travel insurance is therefore highly recommended.


Safari participants are held liable for damages caused to snowmobiles, forest scooters or cars. Each vehicle driver must put down a damage deposit on the spot upon their arrival,by cash or credit card, if other arrangements have not been made in advance. The amount of the deposit is EUR 980,- for snowmobiles and forest scooters and EUR 1 830,- for cars. The customer must notify Lapland Safaris in advance about who (each participant individually or the orderer or company) is going to be held responsible for self liability. The self liability is mentioned during the driving lesson before safari/car driving activity begins.


The driver of a snowmobile must be 18 years old with a valid driving licence, forest scooter driver has to be at least 18 years old with a valid driving license. Children under 2 years old are free of charge and children under 15 years old get a discount and they are then allowed to sit on a sledge pulled by a snowmobile. Children under 15 years old are seated in a sledge pulled by snowmobile and are given helmets.

Driving a snowmobile or forest scooter under the influence of alcohol or any narcotic products is prohibited by Finnish law. As the responsible safari organizers, we reserve the right to change the routing and duration of the excursions if necessary, according to the prevailing weather and snow conditions, or if deemed advisable for the sake of safety and the comfort of the participants. We also reserve the right to discontinue the safari if a participant is seen as a potential danger to him/herself or to others, or is in poor health.
